We live in immensely difficult times and hope our supporters are utilizing their discretionary income to prioritize giving to causes which aid in our collective survival and the dismantling of oppressive systems before or instead of giving to the Ignytes. Donations are still welcome, as each award cycle’s expenses run $3500-$4000 between artist honorarium ($400), trophy production for finalists and winners ($1500), certificate printing ($300), and shipping materials and postage ($1600). We did no fundraising in 2025 out of recognition of the current moment, and the 2026 awards are being funded out of pocket by the administrators. We also encourage you to support the nominated authors by buying finalist titles where available or on Bookshop.org which also supports independent bookstores.
